Do you and your dog click?

Do you and your dog click?

When it's time to teach your dog something new what is your go-to method  ?
Do you think about if you want a reactive or an active dog ?
How will the different training methods create those different learning styles?
As a dog trainer this is something we have to be very aware of .
In my experience with more experience you gain in training dogs you will try to achieve the active dog more often , there are very few behaviors we actually want to be reactive.
In learning phase of training I teach  dogs to be active learners meaning they learn to offer behaviors instead of having to be  pressured into doing the behavior. By using a clicker or a moment marker I am able to communicate clearly to the dog the moment it is doing a desired behavior that I am seeking. By doing this we can build very complex behaviors because the dogs are not holding back or worried about getting something wrong and being corrected if they do not do the correct Behavior I will simply withhold reward and give a verbal cue that it was not correct but without pressure. This will build a dog that is excited to work and shows it. Your dog will learn to work with you instead of for you. I will be posting video's very soon of me teach puppy obedience with clicker training for lasting results.
These question and many more to be covered in up coming posts
